Why You’ll Love Them: When I hop onto my computer to peruse my digital life in the facebook, twitter, youtube, and tumblr blogosphere I usually do it with music playing in the background. I pop on my earbuds, open up itunes - or check out pandora if I’m lazy - and let the background tunes keep me company. Usually it’s just white noise to help me get my work done, nothing spectacular, nothing out of the ordinary. However, there are times, rare and extraordinary times, when the music is so incredible, so captivating, that I have to drop what I’m doing and just focus on the sounds I’m hearing. The band Conditions made me do that.
The pride of Richmond, Virginia, Conditions is a dedicated, committed collection of rockers who can find the brightest light in even the darkest of times. A sonic sound that reverberates with treble luminescence while keeping a veil of edgy darkness within the fabric of their crunchy lines. Invigorating and radiant rock - if there’s ever existed such a thing within the ever-ticked-off mantra of rock n roll. Positivity saturates their music like the dew on the morning grass, crisp and clean, beautiful and new. If there’s one thing to love about Conditions, it’s that they seem to be leading a charge towards a new way to handle rock music.
Without being religious, there’s something special about these guys. There’s a deep and powerful root at the base of their musical rhetoric. Like generals leading an army against the status quo of typical rock bureaucracy, brandishing flurries of guitar picking and heartfelt vocals instead of guns and ammunition. But do not let their positive stands fool you in thinking this is band built on giggles and sunshine; Conditions can bring the heat with the best of them.
To try and abolish the accepted norm in a genre as so passionately defended as rock is not something any group of fools could pull off. Fortunately with Conditions you will meet a band of brothers that are locked, loaded, and ready to roll. Stop checking your dashboard every 5 minutes, get to know their smooth progressive melodies and rocketeering alternative vocals - you’ll never listen to music the same way again.
